The National University of Pakistan (NUP) is a university in Islamabad, Pakistan. The university was made because of the National University of Pakistan Bill in 2023. On 20 April 2023, Arif Alvi the bill was approved.[1][2][3][4]

On 28 July 2023, the National Assembly approved making the University, as well as 25 other universities. The Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), Noor Alam Khan, was against making these universities. He thought the quality of education may be worse in these universities, since they were in the private sector.[5][6]
