The New Avengers is a fictional team of superheroes appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics.

Overview

A splinter group of the Avengers that chose not to comply with federal superhuman registration, the team considers itself the authentic Avengers. The group's members are Luke Cage (leader), Captain America (founder), Spider-Man, Ms. Marvel, Wolverine, the Thing, Spider-Woman, Mockingbird, and Sentry.

After the Avengers were disassembled after the Scarlet Witch fell into madness upon losing her children, Captain America convinced Iron Man to form a new team to stop criminals from escaping the Raft.
