Nicholas Parsons

Christopher Nicholas Parsons (10 October 1923 – 28 January 2020) was an English radio and television presenter and actor. He was best known for hosting Just a Minute which ran from 22 December 1967 to 23 September 2019 and Sale of the Century which ran from 9 October 1971 to 6 November 1983.

Parsons was born on 10 October 1923 in Grantham, Lincolnshire.

Parsons was Rector of the University of St Andrews from 1988 to 1991.

In 2014, he was awarded the CBE 10 years after being awarded the OBE.

In August 2019, Parsons had suffered a fall and was hospitalized in Aylesbury.[2] He died from problems caused by the fall on 28 January 2020 at the Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. He was 96, 9 months short of his 97th birthday.[3][4]

He leaves behind a widow, Annie and 2 children.
