The counties of Northern California
Northern California (NorCal) is a region of California. The definitions of it vary, but it usually contains the area around San Francisco and Sacramento. About 15 million people live in Northern California.
The upper portion of Northern California is home to the southern end of the Cascade mountain range, which stretches into British Columbia. Mt. Shasta, the Cascade's second highest-peak, is a cultural and religious center.[1]
Northern California Media
The Pico Act of 1859 proposed to divide California to create the Territory of Colorado in the south, with the northern area retaining the name of California.
