Pancasila (politics)
The ideas of Pancasila first arose in the mid-20th century, and were mostly derived from the ideals of Indonesia's founding father Sukarno (among others). It was based on the key values of Islam, justice & civilisation, the unity of Indonesia, representative democracy, self-determination & social justice. It was largely influenced by the reactionary backlash to Dutch colonialism of the 20th century - and largely contributed to the 1945-1949 revolution.
