Pantothenic acid
Pantothenic acid is a water-soluble vitamin, in the group of the B vitamins. It is called pantothenic acid because it is everywhere. It is also known as vitamin B5. It is a derivative of the amino acid beta-Alanine.

Its name comes from Greek πάντοθεν, which means "from everywhere" because it is everywhere (abundant). πάνθεο (without the "v") means "temple of all gods.
