Pitched-brick vault
A pitched-brick vault is a vault made laying bricks against an existing wall. This allows to complete the vault without using any other support.
Examples have been found in archaeological excavations in Mesopotamia dating to the 2nd and 3rd millennium BCE,[1] which were set in plaster.
