Raffaele Cutolo

Raffaele Cutolo (Italian: [raffaˈɛːle ˈkuːtolo]; 4 November 1941 – 17 February 2021) was an Italian crime boss. He was leader of the Nuova Camorra Organizzata (NCO).

Cutolo had many nicknames including 'o Vangelo ("the gospel"), 'o Princepe ("the prince"), 'o Professore ("the professor") and 'o Monaco ("the monk").

Cutolo lived inside maximum-security jails or psychiatric prisons from 1963 until his death.[1] At the time of his death he was serving multiple life sentences for murder.

On 17 February 2021, Cutolo died in the prison unit of the Maggiore Hospital in Parma, at the age of 79.[2]
