Rajesh Dandotiya

Rajesh Dandotiya (born 13 June 1975) is an Indian police officer and writer. He works as the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) in the Crime Branch in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He works to stop online crimes and helps people stay safe on the internet.[1]

Career

Rajesh Dandotiya works with the Madhya Pradesh Police. He helps lead investigations about online fraud and cybercrime. In 2024, he became well known when a group of scammers tried to trick him by pretending to be police. Instead, he talked to them in a video call while wearing his police uniform.[2]

Under his leadership, the Indore Crime Branch stopped a major cybercrime group operating from a "dark room" in Delhi.[3][4]

His efforts helped reduce cases of digital fraud in Indore through police actions and education programs.[5]

Awareness Campaigns

Dandotiya has conducted over 500 seminars across Madhya Pradesh to teach people about cyber safety.[6]

He explained how criminals can hack phones using fake missed calls or USB devices.[7][8]

Book

In 2025, he wrote a book called Cyber Rakshak, which provides real-life case studies and guidance to help people protect themselves from cybercrime.[9][10] Many newspapers wrote about his book and said it can help people understand cybercrime.[11]
