Religious studies

Religious studies (or religious education) is the academic study of religious beliefs, behaviors, and institutions from a secular viewpoint. The main religions studied are Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, Sikhism, Judaism and Hinduism.

Totem poles reflect the beliefs of the Indigenous peoples of the Pacific Northwest Coast; some scholars of religious studies argue that the term "religion" is too Western-centric to encompass the beliefs and practices of non-Western civilizations.[1]
