Richard Thorp
Richard Thorp (2 January 1932 – 22 May 2013) was an English actor. He was best known for playing the part of Alan Turner in Emmerdale from 1982–2013. He also appeared in several movies, including The Dam Busters (1955) and The Barrets of Wimpole Street (1957).
Thorp was born on 2 January 1932 in Croydon, Surrey, England. He took a break from Emmerdale in July 2009 to have his right knee replaced. He never married. He died on 22 May 2013 in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, aged 81.[1]
