Roméo et Juliette

Roméo et Juliette is a French opera in five acts by Charles Gounod, first performed in Paris, on April 27, 1867, libretto by Jules Barbier et Michel Carré, after Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. One of Gounod's most successful works, it contains his most beautiful and melodious music. It is still regularly performed.
