Ryhor Baradulin
Ryhor Baradulin (Belarusian: Рыгор Барадулін; February 24, 1935 – March 2, 2014) was a Belarusian poet, essayist, editor, publisher and translator. Baradulin was the last Belarusian to be honored as a People's Poet (1992). His career began in 1953. He was nominated for a Nobel Prize in Literature in 2006.
Baradulin was born in Verasowka, Belarus. He studied at the Belarusian State University in Minsk. Baradulin died on March 2, 2014 from heart failure. He was aged 79.[1] He is survived by his wife Valentina Baradulin.
