SSX (short for Snowboard Supercross) is a snowboarding video game published by Electronic Arts Victor in Japan, EA Sports Big in North America and Electronic Arts in Europe. The game was developed by EA Canada. It is the first game in the SSX series.

It was released on October 26, 2000 in Japan, on October 30, 2000 in North America, and on November 24, 2000 in Europe.[1] Steve Rechtschaffner, the executive producer and creative leader of the game was the inventor of the Olympic snowboard event called Boardercross, which helped serve as an inspiration for the game.[3]

IGN rated the game a 9.3 out of 10, saying "We'll say it for the last time -- this is the best launch game. If you get a PS2, buy this game."[4] GameSpot gave the game a 9.4 out of 10 and stated "terrific snowboarding game that has all the right stuff. Every element comes together and makes for a game that is extremely fun and rewarding to play. [5]
