San Diego State University
San Diego State University, or SDSU for short, is a public university in San Diego, California, and a part of the California State University system. The university has about 38,000 students. It was founded in 1897.
Sports
The athletics teams of the university are called the Aztecs. They have 17 varsity teams, most of which compete in the Mountain West Conference (MW). Three teams have separate conference memberships in sports that the MW does not sponsor. The women's lacrosse team is a member of the Big 12 Conference, the men's soccer team plays in the Western Athletic Conference, and the women's water polo team plays in the Golden Coast Conference.
