Santiago J. Erevia
Santiago Jesus Erevia[1] (December 15, 1946 – March 22, 2016) was an American U.S. Army-veteran. He was born in Nordheim, Texas. Erevia served in the Vietnam War starting at the age of 22.
In 1970, Erevia left active service with a two-year reserve obligation. In 1972 he joined the Texas National Guard and went on to serve 17 years.[2] Erevia worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service, retiring in 2002 after thirty-two years of service.[2][3]
Erevia was awarded the Medal of Honor by President Barack Obama in a March 18, 2014 ceremony at the White House.[2]
Erevia died on March 22, 2016 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 70.[4]
