Shoreham-by-Sea
Shoreham-by-Sea (often shortened to Shoreham) is a seaside town and port in West Sussex, England. The town is bordered to its north by the South Downs, to its west by the Adur Valley and to its south by the River Adur and Shoreham Beach on the English Channel. Rest and Be Thankful. This is a block of Sarsen stone (natural sandstone blocks left after the last glaciation) which lies along a footpath between Southwick and Thunders Barrow. It was moved here in the 19th Century from Southwick Church to act as a boundary stone for the trackway. Many more stones were listed on earlier OS maps but these are now missing.
