Biography
Yamamoto was born in Morioka on June 1, 1985. After graduating from Waseda University, he joined J1 League club Júbilo Iwata in 2008. He played many matches as left side back from 2009. Iwata won the champions in the 2010 J.League Cup. In 2013, he moved to Kashima Antlers. In 2016, Kashima won the champions in J1 League and qualified for 2016 Club World Cup as host country champions. At the Club World Cup, he played all 4 matches and won the 2nd place. In 2018, Kashima won the champions in AFC Champions League first Asian title in the club history. In 2021, he moved to Shonan Bellmare.
In November 2017, Yamamoto was selected the Japan national team for 2017 E-1 Football Championship. At this tournament, he debuted against China on December 12.
