Sportcity (sports ground)
Sportcity Manchester is a sports area in eastern Manchester. It became famous as the host of the 2002 Commonwealth Games.[1] It hosts the regional base for the English Institute of Sport. It has athletics tracks, The National Squash Centre, The Regional Tennis Centre, the Manchester Velodrome and the City of Manchester Stadium.[2] It was also the proposed location for the "SuperCasino"[3] but the plan was rejected by the House of Lords.[4]
