Sprite melon

The sprite melon is a kind of melon. It's similar to honeydew and it comes from Japan. Since the late 1990s it has been grown in North Carolina.

Sprite melons are round and are about as big as a grapefruit. They are usually eaten for dessert and it tastes similar to pears and honeydew. Sprite melons have seeds.

The melon is a part of the family Cucurbitaceae, with cucumbers, gourds, and pumpkins.
