This is a documentation subpage for Template:City.
It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page.

This template can turn {{subst:City|Kennewick|Washington}} (or the shorter {{subst:Ci|Kennewick|Washington}}) into Kennewick, Washington. (Substing, while recommended, is not needed.) Despite the name, it could easily be used for counties and other objects written in the same fashion as well. This template will NOT work with either the state or country of Georgia, for obvious reasons, but should work with any other state, country, territory, etc.

If you only want a link that shows just the city without the state, use the template {{subst:Cy|Kennewick|Washington}} which then shows Kennewick.
