Template:ISO 639 name mt is part of a series that resolves the ISO 639-1, ISO 639-2 and ISO 639-3 codes to language names.
It is used by {{Translated page}} with language code mt, for example: {{Translated page |mt |name of page at Maltese Wikipedia}}. This template is used to generate a link to the Maltese Wikipedia and could be used to include pages in Category:Pages translated from Maltese Wikipedia (may be created using {{Translated sub-cat |mt}}).
Former usage
The following templates now use Module:Lang, which stores the language code and name data in Module:Language/data/iana languages, Module:Language/data/ISO 639-3, and Module:Language/data/wp languages.
- {{Lang|mt| some text in Maltese}} wraps the text with <span lang="mt"> and could be used by the template {{Lang}} with language code mt to include articles in Category:Articles containing Maltese-language text (may be created using {{Category articles containing non-English-language text |Maltese |mt}}). Also available is {{Lang-mt |some text in Maltese}} which displays as Maltese: some text in Maltese.
- {{R from other language|mt|("to" language code)}} includes pages in Category:Redirects from Maltese-language terms (may be created using {{Redirect from alternative language category}}).
- {{R from alternative language|("from" language code)|mt}} includes pages in Category:Redirects to Maltese-language terms (may be created using {{Redirect to alternative language category}}).
