This template is used in system messages. Changes to it can cause immediate changes to the Wikipedia user interface. To avoid large-scale disruption, any changes should first be tested in this template's /sandbox or /testcases subpage, or in your own user space. This is the {{sec link/normal link}} sub-template.
Do not use this template directly, use {{sec link}} or {{sec link auto}} and their sister templates instead.
This template is called from the {{sec link}} family of templates.
Technical details
This sub-template returns a raw (without the double brackets) normal wikilink for the normal servers . It expects these parameters:
{{sec link/normal link | project = | pagename = | lang = | anchor = }}
This template can't handle query parameters.
And it currently can't be used for linked images, since the anchors break there.
But we use it for the other cases in {{sec link auto}}, since we want to use normal wikilinks for the local links so "what links here" works.
