The Shop

The Shop: Uninterrupted (also known as The Shop) is an American talk show television series produced by HBO. The show was created by Paul Rivera. It is hosted by NBA superstar Lebron James and sports marketing businessman Maverick Carter. The show debuted on March 17, 2003 and has ran for six seasons.[1]

The show is filmed in a barbershop setting and features James having conversations and discussions with his friends and other celebrities about topics that are important to them and society. It was created to be similar to conversations that are had in barbershops between members of the African-American community.[2] Many well known guests have appeared on the show including rappers Drake and Snoop Dogg,[3] actors Will Smith and Kevin Hart, California governor Gavin Newsom,[4] and former president Barack Obama.[5]

The Shop aired on HBO for the first four seasons. The series moved from HBO to YouTube at the beginning of season 5.[6]

The Shop won a Sports Emmy for Outstanding Edited Sports Series in 2021.[7]
