Tver Oblast (Russian: Тверска́я о́бластьcode: ru is deprecated , Tverskaya oblast, Karelian: Tverin aluecode: krl is deprecated ), from 1935 to 1990 known as Kalinin Oblast (Кали́нинская о́бластьcode: ru is deprecated ), is a federal subject of Russia (an oblast). Its administrative center is the city of Tver. In 2010, 1,353,392 people lived in the oblast.^[1]
