UK Health Security Agency

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) is a government agency in the United Kingdom, responsible since April 2021 for public health. It guards the population against infectious disease. This used to be done by Public Health England. It is part of the Department of Health and Social Care.

In Autumn 2022 after 30 children died in the United Kingdom from streptococcal pharyngitis.  The Agency sent out a communication which was said to have flooded emergency services with the ‘worried well’. [1]
