Umpire (baseball)
In baseball, the umpire is someone who makes sure all of the rules are followed. Umpires are also used in tennis, cricket, and other sports.
The umpire officiates the game. Their responsibilities include:
- beginning and ending the game
- enforcing the rules of the game and the grounds
- making judgment calls on plays
- meeting out discipline
