Unincorporated area
An unincorporated area is land that is not part of a town, city, or anything like a town. Often, there are not many people there.

Often, unincorporated areas are governed by a bigger administration, such as a county. It is usually a place that some people live, but they are not any official city. Sometimes, they are called an unincorporated community.
Some states have different rules for a place to become an official city.
