The first series of the British school drama series Waterloo Road was shown on BBC One, It was shown from 9 March 2006 to 27 April 2006. It has 8 half-hour episodes. It was created by Ann McManus and Maureen Chadwick.

It is the first series to be filmed at the old Hill Top Community Primary School building[1][2] in Rochdale, England.[3][4][5]
The series
The show follows the lives of the teachers and the pupils at Waterloo Road, a failing comprehensive school.
The school has a lot of problems such as drink driving, underage driving, bullying, homosexuality, marital problems, exclusion, Huntington's disease, teenage pregnancy, abortion, bereavement, sexual harassment, mental illness and suicide.
