Wendy Davis (politician)
Wendy Russell Davis[1] (born Wendy Jean Russell;[2] May 16, 1963) is an American lawyer and Democratic politician. She was born in West Warwick, Rhode Island, but was raised in Fort Worth, Texas.

Davis represented District 10 in the Texas Senate from 2009 to 2015. She previously served on the Fort Worth City Council.
Davis ran for the office of Governor of Texas in the 2014 election but lost to Greg Abbott with 59-38 percent.
