Wharton is a city in and the county seat of Wharton County, Texas, United States.[1] This city is 60 mi (97 km) southwest of Houston. The population was 8,627 at the 2020 census. [2]

The former Texas and New Orleans Railroad Depot in Wharton, Texas, United States was built circa 1915. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on March 18, 1993. The depot was restored in 2006.
