Windows Home Server
Windows Home Server is a home server operating system created by Microsoft. It was announced on January 7, 2007, at the Consumer Electronics Show by Bill Gates. Its purpose is to provide households with multiple PCs a centralized and user-friendly solution for file sharing, automatic backups, and remote access to resources. It is built on the code of Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2.
Windows Home Server was officially launched on July 16, 2007.
It was replaced by Windows Home Server 2011 in April 2011.
