Yumika Yokoyama

Life and career
Yumika Yokoyama was born on 2 March 1987 in Beijing.[1] She studied at Shimokitazawa Seitoku High School and Waseda University.[1] Her school friend was volleyball player Saori Kimura.[1]
She played at the 2004 FIVB World Grand Prix.[2] She wanted to play in the 2008 Summer Olympics.[1] However, she died before the event.[1]
She was diagnosed with cancer.[1] She died of rhabdomyosarcoma on 17 April 2008, aged 21.[3]
She wrote a book, Lua error in Module:Unicode_data at line 293: attempt to index local 'data_module' (a boolean value)..[1] It was adapted into a Japanese television drama in 2010.[3]
