Zanclean

Australopithecus, a human ancestor of Zanclean.

Zanclean is the firts epoch of the Pliocene, also know as Early Pliocene. This period lasts from 5,333 to 2,580 million years ago, after which the Pleistocene begins.[1] At that time, several animal species existed, including early human ancestors like Australopihtecus.[2]

In the sea, one might encounter the giant prehistoric megatooth shark known as Carcharocles megalodon and the famous giant sperm whale Livyatan from example.[3]
