1948-49 Austrian football championship

The 1948-49 Austrian Football Championship was organized by the Vienna Football Association and contested by its members. In Because the league was reformed the Vienna League and several state championships of the federal state associations served as a foundation for the league. FK Austria Wien became Austrian football champions for the 3rd time this season.

Mode

The nine teams that already played in the Vienna League last year were joined by the newly promoted team SC Rasenspieler Hochstädt. The team was immediately relegated. There was a first and second half of the season with nine games each.
