1989 firebombing of the Riverdale Press

Riverdale Press building on Broadway.

The 1989 firebombing of the Riverdale Press was an attack where 2 firebombs were thrown at the offices of the Riverdale Press in the Bronx, New York City on February 28, 1989.[1][2] The building was damaged. 2 California bookstores were also damaged in similar attacks.[3]

The bombing was shortly after the newspaper made an editorial that defended Salman Rushdie in the controversy over The Satanic Verses.[4][5]
