2020 Taal Volcano eruption

The Taal Volcano in the Philippines erupted on January 12, 2020 with the alert level of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) escalating from Alert Level 2 to Alert Level 4.

  Watch: Dark phreatomagmatic plume from Taal's 3:16 PM eruption today. Alert Level was raised from Alert Level 2 to Alert Level 3. There were 2 smaller phreatomagmatic eruptions recorded from 6:26 PM and 7:21 PM that lasted 2 minutes and produced 200-meters high plumes.
