Alawites
The Alawites, also known as Alawis (ʿAlawīyyah Arabic: عَلَوِيَّةٌ) are a sect within Shia Islam. They live mainly in Syria. They follow a branch of the Twelver school of Shia Islam. Alawites worship Ali, and the name "Alawi" means followers of Ali.
