Alexei Alexeyevich Abrikosov (Russian: Алексе́й Алексе́евич Абрико́сов; 25 June 1928 – 29 March 2017[2]) was a Russian and American [3] theoretical physicist. His works were in the field of condensed matter physics.

Abrikosov was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2003 for his study on superconductor and superfluidity.[3][4][5]

He was of Jewish descent.[3]
