Amanda Tapping (born 28 August 1965)^[1] is an English-Canadian actress, producer and director. She is best known for portraying Samantha Carter in the TV series Stargate SG-1.^[1] She also played Helen Magnus in Sanctuary.^[2]

Tapping was born in Rochford, Essex and moved to Ontario at age three.
