Amir Yavari
Ghasem Amir Yavarkandi (Persian: قاسم امیر یاورکندی; 5 December 1931 – 10 November 2020), also known as Amir Yavari, was an Iranian professional boxer. He was a member of the senior national boxing team.[1] He was born in Tehran.
Yavari joined the "Niroo va Rasti" (Persian: نیرو و راستی; Power and Virtue) Club in 1947 at the age of sixteen.[2] Yavari was selected as Iranian captain during the 1960 Summer Olympics,[1][3] where he competed in the welterweight division.
Yavari died on 10 November 2020 in Tehran at the age of 88.[4]
