Area codes 631 and 934 are area codes for New York. Area code 631 was created on November 1, 1997, as a split from area code 516. It covers most of Suffolk County on Long Island, such as Brookhaven, Huntington, Islip, Babylon, Smithtown, and Riverhead. It was overlaid by 934 in 2016.[1]
