Aristóbulo Istúriz

Aristóbulo Iztúriz Almeida (20 December 1946 – 27 April 2021)[2] was a Venezuelan politician and academic who was Vice President of Venezuela from January 2016 to January 2017.

In 2017 Canada imposed sanctions against him. The sanctions were for behaviors that undermined democracy after 125 people were killed in the 2017 Venezuelan protests.[3][4]

Iztúriz died on 27 April 2021 from problems caused by heart surgery in Caracas, aged 74.[5]
