The Autism Society of America is a national organization that was founded in 1965.[1] Its original name was National Society for Autistic Children. Their goal is increasing awareness of autism and problems related to it.

The organization offers toll-free phone support to families and a free online database with information about autism-related programs and services in America. The society has a nationwide network of chapters designed to educate and support families in their local area.[1]

Since 1970, ASA has held conferences on autism spectrum conditions.
