Békés is an administrative county in Hungary. The capital of Békés county is Békéscsaba. It is in the southeastern part of the country. It is on the border with Romania. The county borders with the Hungarian counties Csongrád-Csanád, Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok and Hajdú-Bihar. In 2019, 334,264 people lived there. Its area is 5,629.71 km².
