Bab-e-Khyber, a historical place
The Bab-e-Khyber (Pashto and Urdu: باب خیبر; transl. 'Khyber Gate') is a monument situated at the entrance of the Khyber Pass in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. The gate is located immediately west of Peshawar, with the historic Jamrud Fort lying adjacent to it. The gate was built in 1964 by the military government of Ayub Khan. The Bab-e-Khyber is considered as the "National passageway of Pakistan".It was built as a trading route to make trade between Pakistan and Afghanistan easier.
