The bactrian deer (Cervus elaphus bactrianus) is also called the Bukhara deer, Bokhara deer or Bactrian wapiti.

It is a subspecies of red deer that is native to the lowlands of Central Asia. It is similar to the Yarkand deer in that it lives around the banks of rivers surrounded by desert. Both subspecies are separated from one another by the Tian Shan Mountains.
