After sixteen years as CEO, Fredriksson resigned in December 2017 and took his own life three months later, after receiving harsh criticism in the wake of Me Too movement for his alleged tough leadership style and sexual abuse allegations.[3] However, after his death, it was revealed some allegations towards him were false.[4]
