Brenda Fassie
Brenda Nokuzola Fassie (3 November 1964 – 9 May 2004) was a South African anti-apartheid Afropop singer.[1][2]

Early life
She was named after American singer Brenda Lee. Fassie's music became a symbol of hope for the South African black community during its Apartheid painful days.[3]
Death
Fassie died on 9 May 2004, aged 39.[4]
