Butch Thompson

Richard Enos Thompson, universally known as "Butch Thompson" (November 28, 1943 – August 14, 2022) was an American jazz pianist and clarinetist. He was best known for his ragtime and stride works. From 1974 to 1986, he appeared on the radio show A Prairie Home Companion.[1] From the 1960s until 2021, he led the Butch Thompson Trio.[2]
